Standards Act (FLSA) and Child Labor Laws prohibits youth
younger than 18 years of age from working in certain jobs that
are considered hazardous. For example, in the Woodworking
eTool, certain
restrictions for youth include:

If you are
14-15 years old: According
to the FLSA, you are not allowed to work in jobs
that require the manufacturing, mining, or
processing of materials, including wood. You are
also not allowed to work in the construction
industry.
16-17 years old:
The FLSA states you may not work in logging or sawmilling that requires the use
of a sawmill, lath mill, shingle mill, or cooperage stock machine (HO 4). Additionally,
the FLSA states that you may
not work in occupations that require the use of power driven wood-working machines
(HO 5). Also, the use of forklifts are allowed only by a trained
operator who is at least 18 years of age. For
