   3. Overview

      The purpose of the alliance is to establish a collaborative relationship to provide Mexican nationals in Cameron, Kenedy, and Willacy counties, in Texas and others information, guidance, and access to education and training resources to promote workers' rights in protecting their occupational safety and health, and to help them understand U.S. domestic law on the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act).

2. Implementation Team Meetings

   • August 29, 2016

   Due to prior commitments and obstacles with scheduling, implementation meetings were not held, but will be a priority in the upcoming evaluation period.

3. Results

   The following table summarizes the Alliance's activities in support of the goals in the Alliance agreement.

   Training and Education: To develop training programs to promote understanding of workers' rights and responsibilities of employers under the OSH Act, including the use of the OSHA complaint process.

4. Evaluations

   No evaluations have been conducted.

   Labor Rights Week 2017 event was scheduled but had to be cancelled due to OSHA Region VI response to Hurricane Harvey.

5. Upcoming Milestones

   The goal for the next year is to conduct more events as part of this alliance.
