Overview
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Region VII and the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) through the Alliance and health organizations will address musculoskeletal disorders related to patient handling; bloodborne pathogen and infection control; tuberculosis; slip, trip, and falls; and workplace violence hazards. The Alliance will also explore and implement several options to evaluate alliance effectiveness and measure the impact of its overall effort on improving workplace safety for employers, and workers in the healthcare industry.

Implementation Team Meetings
- April 15, 2018 – Members of the implementation team had an initial discussion by phone conference of 2018 activities as alliance was finalized.
- August 6, 2018 – Members of the implementation team held a conference call to discuss participation in the 2018 Safe and Sound Week social media and communication strategy.
- October 5, 2018 – Members of the implementation team held a conference call to explore the feasibility of an OSHA Vendor Booth at annual MHA Preparedness and Safety Conference. OSHA was unable to attend because it was cost prohibitive.
- April 3, 2019 – OSHA and MHA held a conference call to discuss the information for the OSHA Annual Report. There was also a discussion of the upcoming outreach activities, where OSHA will be participating during this next year.
In addition to these formal meetings, the Alliance coordinators from both groups maintained regular contact throughout the reporting period to monitor the Alliance's progress and results.
