Idaho Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Continues to Offer Free Safety and Health Training at Safety Fest of the Great Northwest

The Idaho Occupational Safety and Health Consultation (OSHCon) Program is offering free OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training, parts 1 and 2, and OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Outreach Training, parts 1 and 2, at the annual "Safety Fest of the Great Northwest." Each year, Safety Fests are held at Boise, Lewiston, Pocatello, Post Falls, and Twin Falls, Idaho. Anyone from the Northwest can attend these free events. During its 8-year run, employers and workers from California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming have taken advantage of this opportunity to get required safety-related training and improve their safety performance. Over 60 classes on such current and important topics as OSHA's new Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) Standard, OSHA Recordkeeping Standard, agricultural safety, combustible dust, confined space, and fall protection will be offered at this year's Lewiston event. OSHCon was one of the originators of this event. In addition to presenting occupational safety and health classes, they remain actively involved in planning the Boise, Post Falls, and Pocatello Safety Fests. At the May 2011 Annual On-site Consultation Training Conference, Idaho OSHCon efforts were acknowledged by their peers, and they were one of the OSHA On-Site Consultation Achievement Recognition (OSCAR) award honorees.
