Free Safety and Health Training at Safety Fest of the Great Northwest – 2016
The Idaho Occupational Safety and Health Consultation (OSHCon) Program is offering free OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Outreach Training, parts 1 and 2, at the annual "Safety Fest of the Great Northwest." Each year, Safety Fests are held at Boise, Lewiston, Pocatello, Post Falls, and Twin Falls, Idaho. Employers and workers from California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming have taken advantage of this opportunity to get required safety-related training for free and improve their safety performance.
OSHCon was one of the initial founding partners of this event. In addition to presenting occupational safety and health classes, they remain actively involved in planning the Boise and Post Falls Safety Fests. At the May 2011 Annual On-site Consultation Training Conference, Idaho OSHCon efforts were acknowledged by their peers, and they were one of the OSHA On-Site Consultation Achievement Recognition (OSCAR) award honorees.

OSHA's On-site Consultation Program offers free and confidential safety and occupational health advice to small and medium-sized businesses in all states across the country, with priority given to high-hazard worksites. On-site Consultation services are separate from enforcement and do not result in penalties or citations. Consultants from state agencies or universities work with employers to identify workplace hazards, provide advice on compliance with OSHA standards, and assist in establishing injury and illness prevention programs.
