Speaker Notes: Changes in work practices and administrative procedures can help prevent violent incidents. Often policies are needed to ensure that the engineering controls are needed to ensure that the engineering controls are implemented and used effectively.
Examples of administrative controls include: require workers to use the drop safes and keep a minimal amount of cash in each register; establish policy of when doors should be locked Other administrative controls include developing and implementing procedures for the correct use of physical barriers, such as enclosures and pass-through windows; developing and implementing emergency procedures for workers to use in case of a robbery or security; and require workers to report all assaults or threats to a supervisor or manager.
