Speaker Notes: Supervisors and managers need to recognize high risk situations, so they can ensure that workers are not placed in assignments that comprise their safety.
Following training, supervisors and managers should be able to recognize a potentially hazardous situation and to make any necessary changes in the physical worksite and/or policies and procedures to reduce or eliminate hazards. They should be able to handle traumatized workers.
Security personnel need specific training about their roles, including the psychological components of handling aggressive and abusive customers and ways to handle aggression and defuse hostile situations.
