Speaker Notes: Existing ventilation systems that rely on dilution of the silica
dust to the safe concentration, are often not adequate, as they sometimes
recirculate dust into the building. Some sources may need properly designed
local exhaust systems to remove the dust at the emission source. Where
employees are close to the emission source, local exhaust is usually superior
to dilution.
