Speaker Notes: Crystalline silica is composed of silicon and oxygen, both of
which are abundant in the earth's crust. Its chemical formal, or the ratio of
the amounts of these two elements, is SiO2. Crystalline silica is a naturally
occurring component of many minerals, such as granite and feldspar. It is a
principal component of sand and occurs in soils.
