TEXT VERSION OF SLIDE:
Title: Structure of the Lungs
Type: Picture Slide
Content: Illustration of air passage way and lungs of a person identifying the
esophagus, trachea, pleura, bronchus, pulmonary artery, pulmonary vein and
diaphragm. Also includes a blow-up illustration of the bronchus identifying the
alveoli, bronchiole, pulmonary venule, pulmonary arteriole, and pulmonary
artery.
Speaker Notes: Almost any type of dust may become a hazard when it becomes
airborne. Once inhaled into the lungs, small particles of the dust can become
trapped in the small air passages and air sacs (called the alveoli). Usually,
the dust particles must be very small -- less than five micrometers -- in order
to travel this far.
