Speaker Notes: The larger particles become lodged in the nasal passages,
throat, trachea, larynx, and larger passages of the lung (the bronchi). From
there, these larger particles are picked up by mucous and removed from the
respiratory tract as an expectorant or as material which is swallowed. However,
if there is enough dust in the air, the mucous transport system can stop.
